Pupils should be taught to:
- Derive and apply formulae for area and perimeter (rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, trapezia, circles)
- Calculate volume and surface area of cuboids and prisms
- Use angle properties (on a line, around a point, in triangles, in polygons, parallel lines)
- Identify and construct congruent and similar figures
- Use Pythagoras’ theorem in two dimensions
- Use coordinates in all four quadrants
- Identify properties of, and describe the results of, translations, rotations, and reflections
