Awarding-body notes
AO1 is the largest weighting at Foundation tier (50%), making Foundation tier disproportionately about procedural fluency rather than reasoning. This is operationally useful for EBSNA / SEMH learners rebuilding maths confidence — the Foundation pathway leans on what they can be taught to do rather than what they have to figure out.
