Awarding-body notes
Edexcel’s AO structure is unusual in that the AO names directly identify content domains (Number/Algebra, Shape/Space/Measures, Handling data). AQA’s AOs by contrast are skill dimensions (Use/Apply, Reason, Solve) cutting across all content. This means the same canonical KS4 Maths node typically connects to one Edexcel AO but multiple AQA AOs.
