Three Assessment Objectives cover the spoken-language endorsement, which is internally assessed and separately reported.
AO7 — Demonstrate presentation skills in a formal setting. AO8 — Listen and respond appropriately to spoken language, including to questions and feedback to presentations. AO9 — Use spoken Standard English effectively in speeches and presentations.

Tests canonical
Where assessed
Internally, throughout Years 10 and 11. Typically a presentation followed by questions. The endorsement is mandatory to enter (every learner takes it) but is graded separately and does not affect the 9–1 grade.
Operational note for NEO
For learners with EBSNA / SEMH backgrounds, the AQA endorsement is harder than the Edexcel one to soften because it is mandatory to enter. Negotiating individual delivery contexts (small group, recorded rather than live, dialogue rather than presentation) with the registering school’s English department is the practical path. See the canonical care note in Spoken English.
